Okay, so Oprah does it and Martha does it so why can’t I?

Since we’ve decided to try again I have been on the internet like crazy trying to find the newest baby stuff and came across some great stuff all around.  I am giving my top ten list and hope that each of you will share your list with me!  Let’s inspire one another with our favorite things!

10. The Well Appointed House

9. Ribbit Ribbit Frames

8. Mary DuPre Designs

7. Flat Wallet

6. Stray Dog Designs

5. Fru Fru Frames

4. Posh Tots

3. Metro Mamma

2. Light of Mine Designs

1. Classic Cottage

As you’ll see some of them are websites.  And once you view them you’ll understand why I couldn’t pick just one thing.  I hope that each of you will enjoy my top 10 as much as I do.  And please share your own when you get a chance.

I am always finding some of the greatest stuff while doing the most random of searches online and I love being able to share them with each of you.  Make sure you read the story behind the Light of Mine Designs.  It’s a great story with meaning most of us can relate to.

Well, that’s my list and now I’m going to bed.  It was a long day at work and I’m exhausted.  Thanks for the compliments on the tree too!  I love watching it at night with no lights on.  I can see the ornaments move and I know it’s Parker.  That might sound really weird to some of you but I know she’s here with us.

Until next time….

The Christmas tree is done!  I thought it would never be done but it is and now as I look at the pictures I think hmmm I need to add some more ornaments.  I think I will tackle that tomorrow.  It turned out just beautifully and I have gotten so many compliments on it today alone.  The top is my favorite and took the most time and money!  I hate to even admit what I spent on the tree!  Thank goodness Ashley hasn’t asked too!

Our Thanksgiving holiday was wonderful!  We spent it with both our families.  Ashley’s family first and then my sister and BIL.  We all had such a good time together and were completely stuffed by the end of the night.  Since losing Parker holidays mean so much more to us than they did before.  We took our families and friends for granted but not any more.  Our little girl has taught us so much about life and love.

We missed her terribly on Thursday.  We felt this void not just at the table but in our hearts.  I found myself crying so many times that day at the most random moments.  I could feel her presence.  Especially when we were saying the blessing.  I felt this gust of wind and I knew it was her.  Comforting me like she always does.  It should be the other way around but it’s not.  And it sucks sometimes.

How different our lives would be if she had survived CDH.  There are days when I can hear laughing and often I dream of her.  Running down the hallway with her blanket in tow and her brown curly hair bouncing.  It’s quite a sight but only a dream.  I know that void will always be there but when does it stop hurting so bad?

I have more than 60% of our Christmas shopping done.  It’s a great feeling!  I ordered our Christmas cards last night and should have those soon.  We are doing the photo cards this year.  I absolutely love them and they are so easy to order online.   We are stuck on a few presents but we’ll figure that out too.  If y’all have never been to gifts.com or redenvelope.com you must visit!

Well, I am going to bed now.  I go back to work tomorrow and am still loving the job.  It’s so refreshing to wake up each day and go somewhere and be productive.  It’s really good for me and good for Ashley.  Our marriage has definitely been bruised through this journey but we’ll find our way through wiser and stronger.  Keep us and all CDH families in  your prayers!

Until next time…..

The Biltmore!  What an amazing house and story!  We had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed the history of this home and the man who built it.  If any of you are ever in Asheville, NC please take time to go see this magnificent home!

Saturday night we did the candlelight tour of the house and it was so pretty.  There are Christmas trees everywhere!  The largest being 35 feet tall.  There were carolers all over the house as we climbed four stories and then went back down four stories.  Sunday we took a tour of the grounds during the day.  It is absolutely breathtaking.  I will try to upload some more pictures soon but have added a few for y’all to view.

Work is still going great!  I am learning my job quickly as it’s a type of law I have never worked in before.  I love the girls I work with and my boss is just great.  The most humble man I have ever met.  It’s so nice to be productive again.

This part of the story is great.  Ashley and I have struggled for the last 18 months on whether to have more children.  We have always been at different places when it came to other children after losing Parker and could never agree or compromise.  When I was ready he wasn’t and when he was ready I wasn’t.  Well that Monday, October 29th, we both decided we were ready.  Together.  We had made the decision to call our friend Lori who is also a genetics counselor and then go from there.  We pay $500 a month for health insurance.  Outrageous huh?  So anyway I got the call on Wednesday to come in for an interview.  And that evening I was offered the position.  My immediate thought was God is ready too.  He put this amazing opportunity in front of us and I believe for a very specific reason.

For those of you who are reading and sometimes doubt Him please let our story be proof that prayer works.  God is a loving God and He answered our prayers.  Not when we thought He would or when we wanted Him to but He did answer them.

This job means so much for our family.  We will save so much a month because they pay 100% of my health insurance.  There is so much good coming from this job and it’s all because of God.  I give all the praise to Him!

Okay, it’s late and I am exhausted.  It was a long day today and tomorrow I officially start my Christmas shopping!

Until next time….

Quick Update

Okay this is going to be quick because it’s late and I need to get some sleep.

The job is fantastic!  I absolutely love my boss and the girls that I work with.  They are each so funny and very helpful!  It feels so good to go back to work and be productive.  I’ll update more later about my new job.

We are leaving tomorrow after work for Asheville, NC.  It’s where the Biltmore is and I cannot wait to get away.  I am going to miss our girls (Ryleigh and Pep) but Ashley and I need this vacation.  We are going with my sister, BIL, niece and nephew.  There are some friends that live there and we are staying with them.  I’ll have some great pictures as the leaves are turning and we are going to the Biltmore.

Nothing else is going on.  I am exhausted when I get home so I have been going to bed early.  Lol…  My body hasn’t yet adjusted to getting up at 7:00 a.m.

Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend and thank you all for your well wishes!  It means the world to me to know I have such great friends and awesome support!!

Start Tomorrow So Wish Me Luck

I didn’t want to post on this until I had a definite answer and I do now so I’m sharing.

Tuesday morning I got a call from a law firm that I had sent my resume to in June requesting an interview.  I went in the following day and had a long and productive interview with both lawyers.  I felt confident leaving and was ecstatic about the possibilities this would bring to our family.  An hour later one of the lawyers called and offered me the position.  I start Friday!

The pay is awesome!  They offer benefits and a retirement plan.  I have landed a great job that is only 20 minutes from the house.  God has definitely answered our prayers!  I will be the lead paralegal for one of the attorneys and am so excited.  They were both extremely impressed with my resume and experience.  I have worked in the legal field for 6 years and truly love it!

Well, I need to do my hair and get to bed.  I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.   Please wish me luck and say a prayer that all goes well!

I will still be working at Hissy Fit too.  My schedule will definitely be full but I want it that way.  This is a busy time for our farm so I know it will put Ashley at ease knowing I am not home alone.  He can work the hours he needs to and not worry about me.
