It’s a Better Day Today.

I am having a better day today.  Still nauseated.

We worked in the yard a lot today.  We bought a new tarp for the dog’s pen and worked in the flowerbed.  We are having our driveway done next week sometime so we grated that.  The weather is gorgeous here.  We got a lot done today and we are going to work some more tomorrow.  It’s supposed to rain sometime tonight.  We need the rain as we’ve got all our corn in the ground.  He’ll start planting peanuts on Monday.

So have any of you seen the new reality show “Farmer Wants a Wife” on CW?  It started on Thursday I think.  It’s so funny.  And so cliche’.  Let me assure you that farmers don’t all wear cowboy boots, wear no shirts and chew on straw.  It’s so not real that it cracks us up and has our attention.  We are going to watch the whole series just because it’s funny.  Being a farmer’s wife isn’t an easy chore.  Ashley works 6 days, sometimes 7, a week and puts in about 14-15 hours a day.  I rarely see him except at night in passing while I’m going to bed and he’s eating dinner during the months of March to December.  He gets two months off and even those aren’t really “off” months.  It’s a faith based business and I don’t mean that lightly.  If you don’t get rain you don’t get crops and you don’t get paid.  Last year our area was declared a federal disaster for us.  We lost 35,000 dollars because of the drought.   It’s a great way of life but you honestly have to have patience and faith.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling.  Check the show out because it’s quite hilarious.

I’m off to cook dinner now!  Thanks for all the comments and emails.  I really appreciate all of you who think of us and pray for us.  We are truly blessed!
